Toys for children in toddling age
You can make use of any waste in your house to make toys for children and teach them to do. Your child will have a stock of "exclusive" toys, cannot find the second.
If you are skillful, try to imagine a little bit about the children's world. Surely, toys "made by parents" will attract him.
Simple toys: Keep empty plastic bottles still having covers (children cannot open). Put in them some colorful water or colorful paper strips. Take a big carton box decorated by paintings or colors outside, place this in children's room so they will play as a house, train, tunnel, or a hiding place. You can create interesting toys by keeping clean cartons, tightly glued, so children can play with them.
If your child is too young and awkward to play with a ball, take a small nylon or material bags, put into sand or dry beans, then bind it. These bags cannot roll far when they fall, and can be easily got back. There are many games with small bags and you can instruct to children: throw it into a ring, a basket far away by some steps.
Toys that attract children's attention: Combine a rope with one or many tintinnabulum to make a sound when you win the rope. This is on method to modernize the tintinabulum when they don't like them. Take a cylindrical plastic box, thrust both upper and lower ends. Pass a strip through and tighten, in this box you put some marbles; when the child pulls the rope, the marbles will hit against each other and make sound. Pick up toilet paper cores, thread reels, string in a long colorful wire to make a circle. Collect metal tins such as biscuit, sweet, water boxes with outside decorations of lovely ribbons, put bells or something that can make noise into these boxes.
In order to make a box that has holes, for simplicity, firstly you take a shoes carton. Choose things that children would put in as tennis ball, ping-pong ball, match box.Cut on the lids of these boxes holes that have shape of things listed above but with bigger sizes. Not necessary to cut many holes at one time. You can start by a round hole, and when the child is used to round holes, you can cut holes of other shapes.
Paired toys (toys that are in pairs)
This kind of toys both excites children and makes them use intelligence. Cut pictures in pictorials or catalogues, stick them on hard boards and require children to divide them into groups of similar pictures: 2 faces, 2 boats, 2 hats, 2 dogs. Begin by mixing up three pairs, after the child has separated and grouped them, you can add more pairs. This method also helps a child to "stimulate" memory.
Rings stringed on an axis
This is a classic toy of children that you can easily make. Take a wooden or carton pipe to make support. You can string on this axis different things: carton core of a toilet paper, thread reel, paper core of a sticking-plaster, hard rings, and ring of a wooden curtain.
