Watching TV helps children relieve pain

Watching TV can have the effect as a medicine on relieving pain naturally for children; it is more effective than the mother's attendance.

Research group in Siena University , Italy found out about the pain threshold of 69 children at the age of 7-12 when they are taken a blood sample to have a test.

Some children are comforted by their mother to losing their attention, the others watch cartoon, and the remainders don't have any impact. As the result, children who watch TV get the least pain.

Children who aren't created a diversion suffer from the pain increasing threefold in comparison with children who watch TV.Even mother's comfortable encouragements don't bring an effective result like watching TV.

The result shows that watching TV not only reduces the spasm of pain but also improves the ability of sustaining pain.

"That the mothers don't have effect on children's spasm of pain doesn't mean their appearances are negative. Although children don't relieve pain, they know not to be alone in the stress situations." authors write.

PhD Carlo Bellieni explains that TV not only neglects the children's attention merely but also stimulates the interest of children causing by the film. Besides, it also stimulates the endorphin hormone to secrete a natural analgesic dose.

He shows that the medical staffs should consider using TV in order to relieve pain in the testing procedures causing pain.
