Drink milk for your baby's health
Women who refuse to drink milk during pregnancy to avoid putting on weight have the tendency to have light babies, reported by researchers.
In fact, drinking milk and Vitamin D are important indicators for the baby's weight, according to Kristine G. Koski, director at the Human Nutrition School of McGill University, Canada .
Researchers have studied seventy two pregnant women - people who drink only one glass of milk or less everyday. After that, they compare the pregnancy test of this group with about other 200 pregnant women who drink more than one glass of milk each day. One cup of milk can supply half of the needed vitamin D for adults.
All expectant mothers have to pass a series of phone interview to evaluate the daily regimen, as well as Vitamin D and other absorbable nutrilite.
"Our researches proved that the restriction in taking in milk or vitamin D during pregnancy had reduced the baby's weight", said the authors.
Vitamin D is produced by the body when it has contact with the sunlight. Some foods like sea fish contain a lot of this micro-substance content. Milk is often added by vitamin D which helps increase the growth of bones and internal organs.
The research group warned that pregnant women should not refuse to drink milk to avoid putting on weight, because the benefit it brings is huge.
